Broken hearts? More like broken eye sockets.

"Did you see that? He just got mugged."

"BS. He walked."

"Yeah, but only after getting hacked by those guys trying to stop the clock."

"Then why did Hightower call traveling?"

"Because he wasn't in position and needed to call something. Listen to it again. You can literally hear the Tech bench screaming at their players to foul him."

"Quit whining. There was no foul."

"Then explain his black eye, asshole."

Here's the story as reported by the Lawrence Journal World.
Aaron Miles' right eye appeared positive proof he was fouled on the most controversial call of the Big 12 Conference basketball season late Monday night at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.

The Kansas University senior guard's shiner and swollen lid came courtesy of a blow delivered after Miles grabbed what appeared to be the game-winning rebound with 7.9 seconds left in double overtime with Kansas leading Texas Tech by two.

Game officials, however, determined Miles traveled with the key board, giving 6'9" Darryl Dora the opportunity to knock in a back-breaking three with 3.6 seconds left, the winning shot in the Red Raiders' thrilling 80-79 victory over the Jayhawks.

And here's the exact same game as reported by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
After a shot by Jackson was no good the ensuing scramble for the ball which was rebounded by Kansas, the Jayhawks were called with a traveling violation and thus the Red Raiders were able to maintain possession of the ball wiht 7.9 seconds left in the game. That's when Dora was able to shoot a 3-point shot with 3.7 seconds left to play and give Texas Tech a huge win over the Jayhawks in double overtime.

Same game. Different perspectives. Same play. Different writing styles. Same outcome. Obviously different English teachers.

First things first: if I hear another person tell me one play, one blow call, shouldn't and can't influence the outcome of a game, I'll be forced to stick that purple ribbon you got for simply competing in the eraser toss during Field Day on the PLC soccer field in the second grade straight up your "it's not if you win but how you play the game" ass.

I will not allow "we missed shots all night" bitches and "we couldn't hold onto the ball" excuses to blind you from a simple truth. That one call, that one traveling call with 7 seconds left in the game, gave Tech the ball. Do you understand that? THE REFEREE GAVE THEM THE DAMN BALL. But oh, I fogot. Officials don't decide games. That instant replay crap they use in the NFL, experimented with in the Big 10 during football and even the one used sparingly during college hoops is just so the networks can sell more advertising. It has nothing to do with the fact that league officials understand one blown call can make all the difference in a game.

Kinda like...this one.

And the "blame the ref" game, Case? Bold words for a guy who owes a Rose Bowl win in Pasadena to a non-existant pass interference call in Lawrence two months earlier. Tell Mangino that one call can't influence the outcome of a game.

In short, I hate you all. And I'll tell you how much over a beer this weekend in KC.

I liked Bobby's O'Reilley's shirt.
It looked nice on him.
I for one am happy that ol' Bobby won aginst us. He needed a win like that. Call it charity, call it what you will, I liked handing him the game in a pretty basket with flowers and bows on it. We're just that nice at KU.

I agree Todd...Miles was mugged..trust me I know the feeling!!! Lots of plays, mistakes, turnovers etc could have lost the game for KU. But, the bottom line regardless of our poor play throughout the game....IT WAS A BAD CALL!!!! You can't deny the obvious boys..we would have won!!
